About the event
This two-day course of Gathering of Native Americans (GONA) is a community-centered event created to bring Native community members together in a space of healing, reflection, and reconnection following the impacts of COVID-19. This gathering honors the lives of those we have lost, recognizes the collective grief our communities have carried, and uplifts the strength that continues to move us forward.
Participants will have access to Native-centered behavioral health resources, including connections to mental health providers, grief support services, and community organizations. The gathering aims to ensure that support extends beyond the event and continues within the community.
Together, we create a supportive environment centered on healing, remembrance, resilience, and hope for the future.
Event Highlights:
Support intergenerational healing and knowledge sharing
Create space for elders, adults, and youth to share experiences, teachings, and cultural knowledge that strengthen identity, continuity, and collective healing.
